Step 1

After finding one end of my yarn of thought, I started to note down which aspects of the street made me excited. Instead of making a mind map of all the thoughts in my head, I started to write a short story about the people living in the street. A story for me has a more logical structure then a mind map: mind maps for me are illustrations of how my mind would looks like, a very dense web clouding your vision. A story on the other hand connects all the loose associations, making it easier for me to conclude what I want to research.

After having finished writing the story I selected key words. These words are now the starting point for associations in imagery (drawings, photographs, etc). Below is the list of the words and a small drawing to announce the storm of images which will grow in the coming weeks.
